Is Charlotte the new Christian?

Charlotte Olympia is making her name in the fashion world where Christian Louboutin still stands tall.  Her shoes are appearing on all the hottest celebrities.  Blake Lively (shoerazzi), Kate Moss, Sienna Miller (Net-a-Porter), Kate Hudson (handbagcomment), Sarah Jessica Parker (shoesforwomen), and Emma Watson (InTheirCloset) are just a few who are rocking this designer's stunning shoes.  The half-British and half-Brazilian (Net-a-Porter) designer has added a pinch of spice and sass to her shoes while still allowing them to have a feminine flare.   She has designed an array of fun and flirty colors and unique designs for her shoes.  Some of them are as simple as hot pink platforms and some are as complex as suede, leaf-patterned ankle boots.  Her shoes range from $800 to $1700 (polyvore).  Christian and Charlotte seem to have a lot in common when it comes to their shoes.  They both have the glam factor and are around the same price range.  Celebrities are just quick to move on to something new and find the next big thing.  Christian Louboutin has had his fair share of fame and still seems to be ahead of Charlotte, but maybe not for long.  Watch out, Christian, Charlotte has spun a new web in the fashion world.

Yearning for Yurman

David Yurman bracelets seem to be the new Silly Bandz on the wrists of sorority ladies on the Louisiana Tech campus.  Although, there is a significant price difference between the two, it doesn't stop some of the ladies from having more than one stacked on their wrists.  The prices of these bracelets range from $300 to $2200 (Neiman Marcus), as oppose to a whopping $5 for Silly Bandz.  There is no doubt that these bracelets are gorgeous and elegant in their own ways.  The bracelets are made of different thicknesses of sterling silver and gold cables.  The sterling silver or gold cables of the bracelets are crowned with a variety of gemstones (Saks Fifth Avenue).  The assortment of gemstones and the different thicknesses of the bracelets allow them to be unique.  The smaller bracelets are the typical trend among the ladies that I have seen, probably because they are significantly cheaper than the thicker ones.  The smaller ones tend to average about $400, depending on the type of gemstone.  The larger ones can cost up to $2200 (Neiman Marcus).  In addition to college students sporting these bracelets, celebrities like Taylor Swift (Passion for Fashion) and Kate Bosworth (Instyle) have been seen wearing them.  Women aren't the only ones who have been seen wearing David Yurman.  Steven Spielberg and Kevin Spacey have been spotted donning this designer's jewelry (alljewelrydesigners).  David Yurman jewelry could potentially be on the Christmas list of every teenage boy and girl this winter, if a loved one is willing to go a little more green.

Grade A for Gaga

Not only did Lady Gaga stun the crowd with her 8 wins at the VMAs Sunday night (billboard.com), she stunned them by wearing a dress made entirely out of real meat.   Designer Franc Fernandez created the special ensemble for her.  Even her purse, shoes, and hat were fashioned out of meat (style.mtv.com).  Lady Gaga has created a raw sense of fashion that surpasses every other celebrity in the world.   Her wardrobe is filled, but certainly not limited to, latex dresses, Kermit the Frog, unique leotards, red and black Chantilly lace, and Saturn rings that are out of this world.  Little monsters everywhere love her for her daring and wild sense of style.  What will the fashion icon think of next?
